Lakeside with mountains in background

Welcome

Are you frustrated that all the effort you have put into doing life right isn’t working for you?

Do you find you go to bed exhausted, then can’t sleep and wake up groggy and cloudy?

Are some things in life going well, yet there’s a nagging feeling that something is just off?

Have you tried positive thoughts, affirmations and not complaining, but you still don’t feel better?

Do you Identify yourself as an Adult Child of an Alcoholic or dysfunctional family, or a person who has lost themselves due to a chaotic relationship?

Maybe you feel something is wrong with you… nobody else seems to be bothered by the things that bother you.

I welcome you and thank you for checking out my site. I hope that you can find something that resonates here.  I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and it is my honor to work with individuals in adulthood who want to unlearn some of what is holding them back and learn new ways of interacting with the world.  People who work with me typically complain of stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship troubles, and difficulty with change, life transitions or LGBTQ concerns. Often people are working through their own recovery and find that there are still pieces that they seek to grow past.  My clients recognize what they are doing is no longer working and have decided to take concrete steps to move beyond that obstacle.

Interestingly, it appears that people who feel they emotionally overreact are the very ones who will admit they have no clue how they are feeling.  And the strong, silent types have no idea that the emotions they see in others are actually a feedback tool they can access to help them live a more connected and vibrant life.  Emotional fluency is one of the key tools I utilize in my practice.

Curious? Look around, stay as long as you’d like.

Anxiety Counseling

Anxiety seems to be all around us, woven into the very fabric of our days. It seems people who are able to deal with anxiety have a distinct advantage in how their everyday life goes. It’s time to consider yourself someone who knows how to deal with anxiety and live fully.

Life Transitions

Change can be one of the hardest things to deal with in life. One day life seems familiar and comfortable, and the next you’re thrown into a world of unknowns. Figuring out what you don’t know and then coming up with a strategic plan on how to manage change is not only possible, it can enrich your life.

Chronic Illness

Getting your head wrapped around a medical diagnosis is one thing. Dealing with the fatigue, unknowns, constant appointments that take up so much time is another. Learning how to cope with a body that has changes, and to engage with life on life’s terms is a challenge. It can also be the beginning of a better life.

Relationships

Why is it that relationships are one of the biggest contradictions in life? We want them, desire the benefits of closeness, connection and support - yet they can cause us so much pain and stress. How can you learn how to authentically show up in relationships, adding value to your life, and minimizing the pain involved? Relationships can be worth the effort, if you’re ready to put in the work then you can thrive.

LGBTQ

Wouldn’t this world be so much better if everyone was allowed to be truly themselves? Wouldn’t it be easier if you had a safe and supportive place to explore all the parts of you; including your sexuality and gender identity? But also your passions, creativity, relationships, career, spirituality and all things that make people human. You are most welcome here to become exactly who you already are.
