Do you feel like you're always letting your loved ones down - you over-promise and under-perform?

  • Do you judge yourself for being exhausted from doing your life, when your friends do the same things and still have energy left over?

  • Does your inability to start, sustain and complete projects confuse you?

  • Are you often in trouble at work because you missed a deadline or your colleagues are waiting on your contribution?

  • Does your social battery suffer from last-minute bailing? You're excited when you make plans, then when the time comes you just can't find the energy to go?

  • Do you have a graveyard of apps and planners? You excitedly start a new system, then two weeks later find yourself bored and unable to engage?

If you're asking "what is wrong with me?" but can't pinpoint anything obvious, it's possible your brain is simply wired differently. You might have undiagnosed ADHD.

You're Not Alone - And You're Not Broken

Millions of adults live with undiagnosed ADHD. For the undiagnosed life can be harder than it needs to be. ADHD affects people from all backgrounds - the creative entrepreneurs, the anxious perfectionists, musicians, artists, ideas people, and people who flew under the radar in school but still struggle as adults.

Your brain isn't broken. It's wired to be open to more input with fewer natural filters. Hyperfocus and collapse are typical cycles that don’t fit the world's expectations of productivity and success.  What looks like "can't focus" is actually "focuses on everything at once." All brains like what is comfortable and familiar and resist things that are difficult and boring. For most people with ADHD wiring it never occurs to them that there is another way to do life. ADHD therapy can unlock a different kinder way to do life.

Scaffolding Your Way Back to Yourself, One Small Step at a Time

Scaffolding on a building

ADHD treatment isn't about forcing yourself into neurotypical systems that never fit. It's about scaffolding safety and self-trust — building your capacity to work with your brain instead of against it, starting with the smallest moments of awareness.

My approach begins with what I call “micro body questions” — gentle inquiries that help you reconnect with what you actually need. We might start by simply noticing: What does your body need right now? Are you hungry, tired, or craving movement? These questions are simple invitations to remember that your system has wisdom worth trusting.

ADHD treatment isn’t about forcing you to adopt techniques that aren’t designed for you; they are experiments designed to work for you. ADHD therapy includes managing your own energy flow, rhythms, and cycles. Treatment for ADHD includes identifying what your brain naturally gravitates toward, avoids, and gets behind on. Learning how to scaffold, buffer, and provide support for your unique brain is a priority of ADHD therapy with me.

A Trauma-Informed Approach That Honors Your ADHD Brain

I integrate behavioral therapy specifically designed for ADHD brains, combined with trauma-informed counseling approaches that address the hidden toll of years spent thinking, “something’s wrong with me.” We'll explore reparenting old shame patterns and discovering what wants to emerge when you're not busy managing constant self-criticism.

As you build confidence in these small inner knowings, we gradually expand the territory — from “what does my body need for focus right now?” to “what does this part of me want me to pay attention to?” to eventually “what would better look like in my life?” Each step builds on the last, creating a foundation strong enough to hold bigger changes.

Counseling for ADHD isn't about quick fixes or forcing yourself into someone else's system. It's about sustainable, organic change that honors your ADHD brain's unique gifts while addressing the real struggles.

“How Do I Know If It’s Really ADHD — And Not Just Social Media?”

This is such a smart question. While ADHD diagnosis has been trending, that doesn't make your experience less valid. Historically, women and adults were overlooked for diagnosis. I'll help you evaluate your situation through clinical criteria, not TikTok trends.

If elements resonate with you, it's worthy of deeper exploration. It’s definitely not too late to pursue ADHD counseling. You know yourself better than anyone — if you think this might be part of your puzzle, it deserves attention.

Common Questions About Adult ADHD Therapy…

I can't possibly have ADHD - I don't bounce off the walls like that kid in 3rd grade.

That's exactly the picture we all carry - the hyperactive little boy who can't sit still. But that's just one version. Adults learn self-control as they age, so you might not be outwardly disruptive. But inside? Chasing squirrels, anxious, feeling behind all the time. You're spending enormous energy just to function. It might be time to give yourself a break and discover kinder ways to relate to yourself by starting treatment for your ADHD.

Do I have to take medication if I have ADHD?

Not necessarily. For some, practicing improved skills is enough. For others dietary changes or reducing substance use helps. But if you're struggling to make meaningful changes despite wanting to and trying hard, ADHD medication isn't a personality flaw or therapy failure. It's brain support - no different from a diabetic needing insulin to function well.

I've tried therapy before for anxiety and depression. How is this different?

Many of my clients come in with anxiety/depression diagnoses, wondering why therapy hasn't helped them make lasting changes. When you’re treating the wrong issue the treatments don’t work. By seeking counseling  we can help you understand your unique experience of ADHD; how it can overlap anxiety and depression, and how it is uniquely different from those. Once we identify ADHD as the underlying piece, everything shifts. We're not just managing symptoms - we're working with your actual brain wiring.
